Kaila Compton, MD PhD

Dr. Kaila Compton is a psychiatrist and Medical Director of the proposed Psychedelic Center of Excellence. She earned a PhD in Social Anthropology from Harvard University and completed medical school through the UC Berkeley–UCSF Joint Medical Program and psychiatry residency at UCSF. She has worked in psychedelic medicine since 2017 and developed and directs Bay Psychiatric Associates’ Berkeley Ketamine Clinic, overseeing 10 physicians, seven staff, and approximately 17,000 ketamine and TMS encounters annually. Her training includes the CIIS Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research, MAPS training in MDMA-assisted therapy, and advanced training and clinical research in 5-MeO-DMT.
